I think it’s very obvious that user is not always correct. Of course the user might help the designer to design the best overall design of a product. However, designer should not listen to everything the user says. Each individual user may have their own unique needs and they only emphasize from their own personal perspective. Designer must see everything in bigger picture and design the best design for everybody. The designer should not always provide new features because one or more users ask for them and this is the same reason as why user is not always correct. Instead of one person’s individual view, the designer must see as a whole.

For our second project, I would eliminate more buttons and take away some of the unnecessary things that just create clutter. First thing that I would remove is the number pads 0 -9 as we found that it is not necessary and takes up too much space. Although the RPM is nice information, it is not necessary, and could be taken away. Similarly, mets, watts, and cal/hour could be taken away, and the other three could be simplified into a larger display so that you would not have to constantly rotate through the display to get the desired information. All of the display could be enlarged and displayed prominently so that a quick glance would get you the desired information.
