The user is not always right. The designer should take into consideration what the users suggest, but it should be just that, a suggestion. On project 2, I would eliminate clutter as much as possible. Even on our redesigned sketch, we still had a lot of clutter on the panel which can be very confusing to the average user who just wants to turn it on and start walking. The original design had many more buttons than our redesign, but the redesign was still quite cluttered.
